To connect students across campuses and offer customized study and career tools, we collect the following types of information:

• Personal Profile Data: Registration details including your full name, email address, password (stored securely as a hashed string), university/college name, degree major, academic year of study, and optional profile picture.
• User-Generated Content: All academic materials you upload, share, or post, including lecture notes, previous year question papers (PYQs), study guides, discussion threads, poll selections, blog articles, comments, and direct message interactions.
• Professional & Career Data: If you use our jobs and internships portal, we collect your resume/CV, work history, skillsets, portfolio links, and job application choices.
• Device and Usage Information: Technical telemetry collected automatically, including your IP address, browser type, operating system version, page access history, timestamps of visits, and clickstream analytics.

We use your personal data to power the core educational platform and provide customized, secure student features:

• Service Provisioning: Hosting notes, rendering PDFs, delivering real-time activity feeds, processing searches, and allowing forum discussions.
• Content Recommendation: Using your college, degree, and study year to suggest relevant handwritten notes, discussions, and local campus events.
• Placement Matching: Recommending internships and student jobs matching your skill profile and resumes.

Users create personal accounts to customize their learning feeds, upload documents, and interact with other students. You are responsible for protecting the confidentiality of your account credentials (email and password).

DelegateCampus reserves the right to request student ID verification or college email domain verification to maintain community safety and prevent fake accounts. Profile details are searchable inside the platform to encourage student-to-student connection, but email addresses and passwords are kept strictly private.

DelegateCampus acts as an intermediary platform enabling peer-to-peer sharing of academic material. When you upload files (e.g. notes, papers, syllabus guides):

• Public Visibility: Files uploaded to public sections are accessible for reading and downloading by other platform users. Your name and college will be credited on the document page.
• Content Quality Control: Files are subject to moderation and community reporting. Content containing copyrighted materials, textbooks, exam cheating sheets, or malicious code will be removed immediately.

Our platform connects student talent with professional opportunities. When you utilize the jobs and internship boards:

• Resume Transmission: When you apply for a listing, the resume, portfolio, email, and skill details you provide are transmitted directly to the corresponding company, employer, or placement cell.
• Profile Matching: We process your career interests and skills to recommend listing options. Recruiter search matches are kept anonymous until you explicitly authorize profile sharing or click apply.

We offer AI-powered student tools (such as automated notes summarization, exam preparation outline generators, and search enhancers).

When you input prompts or documents into our AI features, the data is processed securely through API integrations with trusted third-party providers (e.g. OpenAI or Google Gemini). We do not sell your prompt history or document contents to train external model systems, and we implement strict data retention constraints to ensure prompts are deleted from intermediary cache servers.

We implement administrative, technical, and physical security measures to safeguard your personal data:

• Encryption: Data transfers between your browser and our servers are protected using SSL/TLS encryption protocols. Hashed storage is used for passwords.
• Internal Controls: Access to our backend servers and database clusters is strictly partitioned, allowing only authenticated engineers and administrators with moderation duties to view operational tables.
• Limitations: While we practice state-of-the-art security routines, no electronic data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed as 100% secure. You share data at your own discretion.

DelegateCampus integrates third-party APIs and links to external websites for specific integrations, including oauth sign-in (Google Authentication), CDN services (Cloudinary or AWS for document storage), and external analytics.

These external providers maintain their own independent privacy policies. We do not exercise control over third-party practices and are not responsible for their terms or actions. We encourage you to read their policies.

DelegateCampus is designed strictly for college, university, and post-secondary educational students. Our services are not intended for children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 13. If we discover that a user under 13 has submitted profile details to the platform, we will delete their account and associated records immediately.

Under Indian privacy laws, including the DPDP Act 2023, you hold the following rights:

• Right to Correction: The right to update inaccurate details in your user profile.
• Right to Deletion: The right to request the erasure of your personal data when it is no longer required for platform services.
• Right to Consent Withdrawal: The right to withdraw consent for data processing (e.g. opting out of newsletter updates or career emails).
• Right to Grievance Redressal: The right to register concerns or complaints regarding how we handle your personal data.

We retain personal details for as long as your student account is active. If you delete your account, we erase personal identifiers within 30 days.

Please note that shared notes, university exam papers, or discussion comments may remain indexed in our database even after account deletion, but we anonymize the metadata so they cannot be linked back to your name or identity. This ensures community study materials remain available for others.

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changing features or legal mandates. When we implement modifications:

• We will revise the "Last updated" timestamp at the top of this policy document.
• For significant policy updates, we will send an email announcement or display a notification on our dashboard homepage to seek your renewed alignment.
